From 1 May the well-known voice of presenter, actress, model, MC, voice artist, life coach, speaker and philanthropist, Mishka Loesch, joined the Good Hope FM radio station as news anchor.
Good Hope FM’s Program Manager, Gerard Muller said:
“The entire Good Hope FM team is amped to have Mishka back. She brings an ideal set broadcast expertise, a passion for being in the know, warmth and compassion, personality and an amazing sense of humour to the station. Add this kind of spice to Cape Town’s Original breakfast show, and you have recipe that’ll keep even more listeners tuned – Mother City and beyond!”
Mishka says her mother has always been her greatest inspiration and that the memory of her mother drives her: “…to be better, to be my best. A constant reminder of how short life is, and how it’s supposed to be lived to the fullest.”
Why did Mishka choose radio?
“Coming from a TV background, where many broadcasts aren’t live, radio appeals to me because of its immediacy, the fact that it sees one’s personality and your mind taking centre stage, and the fact that it provides a connection with listeners on a level that is unique and truly special.”
Her first morning on air Mishka describes as absolutely incredible and even though the nerves and butterflies were there; it was a fun experience and she is looking forward to the rest of the year with the Good Hope FM team. Mishka hopes to bring all of herself to listeners.
“I can be serious, but I am also very light-hearted, and I wear my heart on my sleeve. I am passionate, with a dry sense of humour and I hope the listeners can see that, and in some way or form relate to me as a human.”
As a morning show host, it is no wonder that Mishka admits to being a morning person. She says that her days are full and exciting and she is putting all her energy into her new, and current roles.
A few quick questions to Mishka:
Cats or dogs? “I have adopted cats, so definitely a cat person.”
But she also loves dogs and went on to say they had a family dog when she was a teenager.
Coffee or tea? “Both. A strong black coffee or green tea.”
Favourite holiday destination? “Even though I’ve been abroad to amazing places like the Seychelles and Mauritius, travelling in our beautiful country is incredible. We have some beautiful travel and tourist Hot-spots!”
Mishka, whose “word for the year” is courage – leaves us with her favourite quote: “Failure will never overtake me, if my determination to succeed is strong enough.” -Og Mandino –
Mishka’s Loesch is more than a clever beauty, and her energy, talent and drive can only make her voice a popular one on Radio FM.
