The Purple Windmill isn’t actually purple, it’s African Lilac. That would have made the name too long, so it became The Purple Windmill.

Nursery
You can visit the nursery from Wednesdays to Sundays, 09:00 to 17:00. A wide variety of plants to choose from awaits you. Come breathe in the fresh air these fellows provide.
Venue and Guest House
The Cellar Wedding and Function Hall can take a nice occupancy of 200 guests. The hall comes with a fully equipped kitchen and bar. And right next to the Cellar Venue the Purple Windmill’s beautiful Guest House awaits your visit.
Plaas Mol Market / Kruip Mol and Play area
Every Saturday and Sunday 09:00 to 15:00 the market is open for your convenience. You will be spoilt for choice in hand-made goods and fresh pancakes.
Visit the Kruip Mol right next door for live entertainment and music. Enjoy beer on tap and some of the best burgers and pizza you can devour with taste. Choose your spot under the tent or make yourself comfortable on the grass in the designated area.
Kids can disappear in the massive indoor play area. Safe and with supervision, you might forget your little one came along! Kids will love to buy carrots from the market area and feed the farm animals. Do remember dry clothes and towels in the summer. Dry kids are not guaranteed.
Even the more mature kids can enjoy a game or two with Aqua Golf and Target Shooting. For the more creative souls there are pottery classes.
Pensioners
Wednesdays are all about our senior citizens as they enjoy a fun day at a discounted rate every Wednesday.
Rooibos and wine
The Purple Windmill is a working farm and here they grow their own rooibos tea. Purchase the farm’s very own wine selection at an affordable and tasty price. They also grow lemons and roll on lawn.
Second chances
What happens when an old and run-down reservoir dam gets a second chance? It becomes a restaurant! The dam was turned into the beautiful Reservoir Restaurant where you can now book win/gin/beer tastings and pairings, or enjoy a delicious platter.
New to The Purple Windmill
A Farm Based Home School Centre where education meets outdoor life. Gardening, Pottery, Kinderkinetics and Little Cooking classes are part of the curriculum. Fresh air and open spaces come with Impaq curriculum provider.
